Android 6.0 Marshmallow - Google making the Android experience more powerful

Android, since the day of inception, always keep getting better.

Smart phones keep getting smarter day by day. I often come across people, friends and colleagues discussing, in fact , a little freaked out at the notion of Google having access to so much of our personal information. But doesn't it make the Android experience more powerful ?

Understandably, YES !!!

Lets discuss about one of the killer feature that Android 6.0 introduces. The "NOW ON TAP" feature, which Google calls "The smartest shortcut from here to there".

Lets explore ...

When Hitesh ask Google Now something, nearly 80% (Google Now Accuracy) chances are there that it's going to know what Hitesh is querying about.

e.g

"When is my train?"
"How far is this/that place"
"Where is this/that restaurant"
bla bla bla !!!

Google defines them as CONTEXT. Google Now understands more than 100 million different contexts.

Google Now understands the CONTEXT of my query and it uses the Google Knowledge Graph to provide me with ANSWERS that is meaningful to me.

The above discussion is something that we all have experienced till Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Now in Android 6.0 Marshmallow version, NOW ON TAP comes with the ACTION part as Google Now update. It aims to provide run time functionality whenever I need it. Wow !!! Still wondering ? Lets understand the example that follows.

Hitesh opened a message in WhatsApp Messenger from one of his friend suggesting an outing to watch 007 Specter - The movieWhen I pressed and held down the home button, NOW ON TAP showed me a variety of information options. Did I want to go to the IMDb page? Watch the trailer on YouTube? Or just go to Chrome and read more about it? The gist of the story (or freaky for my dear friends) is that "Now on Tap" knew that I was looking for information about the movie without having to stop what I was doing.

Really a step ahead. Isn't it ?

Because Google Now is context-sensitive, it knows beforehand whatever I am going to ask. The Knowledge Graph ensures the answer...

HATS OFF !!!
